F10 Wrap...which colour to go?

Guys and girls (if there are any here)

I am contemplating the idea of wrapping my car....

I like these two colours

Austin Yellow

Frozen Blue

If I'll go for wrap then roof will be wrapped in gloss black.

Which colour do you prefer? Please feel free to comment or just vote.

How hard is it to maintain the wrapped cars? Or Shall I avoid going down the route of wrapping?

Leave it in this colour

If i was going to wrap I'd have blue chrome

.......but I'm not sure if I would, I think it could ruin a car and be too cheesy imo??

Partial as you know to a bit of Grey nothing too light nothing too dark but I think if executed just right the colour on these new 5's can really work, ideally with your interior tonily going slightly darker would bring out the best re the interior.

Got to say though Austin Yellow is very shall we say bold does look fab. Thing is is it a Phonex Yellow moment type colour or can it be used to highlight the csr out from so many other 520d's?

There is the question of wrapping interms of possible devaluation if done in a "loud" colour you've got to connect with a like minded individual who'll pick it out over all other 520d's come sale time and let's be honest in a market where they'll be a 100 Black, Space Grey and tge odd White car the 1 Austin Yellow car on the net will for sure get lots of hits on the web come sale time as its so individual and thst due to the mods done I suspect will get you hooked up with a potential buyer.

Hi Sam, my car is wrapped as you know. Why did I do it? My car is black and it would get a swirl mark if you looked at it in the wrong way. It drove me mad so I decided to wrap it. Before doing so I polished the paint to a very high standard. When (if) I remove the wrap the paintwork will be mint.
If I was buying a car with a wrap I would be very cautious as you don’t know what lies beneath, but to remove a wrap takes less than an hour if it is nice and warm.
A wrap also helps to prevent smaller stone chips. A stone chip can damage the wrap, but at least it’s the wrap and not the paint getting damaged.
The next major plus is that cleaning is so much easier and cleaning frequencies are reduced as the wrap self-cleans to an extent. This can be greatly enhanced by using these products, which are specially made for matte finishes:
http://www.nanolex.de/en/matte_surfaces
I have had my wrap for a couple of years and over that time I have had a few panels replaced due to wear a tear and to keep the car as mint as possible.
One word of caution. The price for a wrap does not include door slats and these are expensive to get done. If the wrap is a different colour to the door slats it doesn’t look good. Same with the boot. One of the reasons I recommend Totally Dynamics is that they take off parts of your car so the wrap appears seamless. The wrap is also cut with a scalpel blade once it is on your car, so you need to trust who is doing it otherwise your car could be scratched.
Does it look tacky? Personal taste obviously, but the M3 frozen edition red is a wrap, so it was good enough for BMW.

I personally wouldn't bother, once you get stone chips etc it'll look shite.

Leave as is IMO

Thanks very much for your contribution.
Majority is voting to leave it alone.
Mrs saw this thread and voted against voting
@old grey steve, I agree with you that darker colour will work with lighter interior. However I really wanted to go for bit bright and bold (Austin yellow) and my interior will look rubbish against austin yellow.

tomwh85 that colour looks good but like a whore....will be good for one day / night.

The0pportunist holmefield not a great fan of that colour.

alzieboy xPETEZx SiKkBaSs Rudz cupraraj Ao1 omaragha And all others who voted... many thanks for your input.

Please keep voting / commenting. I am still half tempted to get it done but three concerns

1- Maintenance of wrap
2- Insurance (every year I will have to declare wrap and pay premium)
3- Resale of the car (may struggle to shift the car in 1-2 year as wrap puts off potential buyers. When I look for cars, I exclude wrapped cars straight away.)

Perhaps, I should listen to majority and leave it as it is.

IF your going to wrap it which I think you are as you've set your heart on it i'd go for a bold colour, & not one you can get from BMW Austin Yellow is nice BUT it's been done.

You are makin your car a statement about you, you've gone to the effort of personalisin your F10 with your trick bits Why stick to a tryed and tested colour be bold, there are some awesome colour wraps out there.

I was going to say get a wrap if it's on your mind as it won't go away, then remove when you're thinking of selling. But the current colour is amazing. I've always wanted to do a BM the old M3 purple, Dakota? Anyway, I'll throw that in to the ring. Not yellow for me.

I like the yellow, but it's the black lower sills and black front spoiler inlays that set it off don't think it would look so good without them.

Hi Mak,

I so much wanted a Phoenix Yellow M3 when i was looking, but settled on Estoril Blue. The Austin Yellow is so much like the Phoenix Yellow, so My vote is Defo with the AY.

I voted the last option but I don't think it's a waste of money, just that I wouldn't wrap it personally, looks great as is.
