SES but no codes, Dealer doesnt know what to do
Hello All,
So to make a long story short, I have a stubborn SES light that won't go away, but doesn't have a code either. Previously there was a code for an O2 post cat lambda signal (p2c77). The dealer did a reset, but now there is no code and still an SES. They has no idea what it is, but recommend a software update. Has anyone every experienced this? What are the advantages of a software update? My car is an 07 coupe with 51k on the dial. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Depending on the code, the SES light will stay on even if there is no active current code showing. But if you look in the long-term history and it's a specific code, it will keep the SES light on till you delete long-term history.
But I'd imagine that the dealer would know this so perhaps it is something else. |

The SES light can be triggered by fault codes in the EGS module (if you have an automatic). Otherwise, it's very rare to have the warning light present with no actual fault codes being stored. They were checking it using the factory ISTA diagnostic system? Something doesn't add up.

The car is a manual :/ I would assume they are using the diagnostic system, but I will verify tomorrow when I pick her up. The car runs fine, just this darn SES! Anything specific I should be asking tomorrow? Thanks!

Well I got my car back this morning and plugged my Bav Tech to the car and pulled a code! I have no idea what my dealership is talking about. So it looks like the same code as before. Has anyone ever had experience with Walker o2 sensors?
